Google pixel 2 specs and rumors "gain waterproofing"?

The Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL will likely be powered by a Snapdragon 835, instead of a Snapdragon 836.
Apparently Qualcomm has been forced to delay the upgraded chipset until the beginning of next year. Snapdragon 836 is still likely coming, despite some other rumors.
The Pixel duo is expected to become official on October 5.
If the differences between the Snapdragon 820 and 821 are anything to go by, the 836 shouldn't be a huge upgrade over the 835, so it's hardly a great loss. And Pixels are rarely lacking in performance so the current flagship chipset should do just fine.
Pixel 2 Smartphones Gain Waterproofing
The latest details on Google’s upcoming Pixel 2 smartphone confirm a number of previously leaked details, including an always-on screen and laser detect autofocus. There’s also a welcome addition of IP68 waterproofing to the Pixel 2 specifications. Stephen Hall reports:
On another note, we’ve now been told by two separate sources that both Pixel 2 models will have improved water and dust resistance, as I first said way back in January. One source, familiar specifically with the LG-manufactured Pixel XL, has told us that the devices will be “waterproof,” while the source that provided the images you see in this post says that both devices will be rated IP68. It seems pretty likely to us that IP68 is the rating that these devices will carry. The latest details on Google’s upcoming Pixel 2 smartphone confirm a number of previously leaked details, including an always-on screen and laser detect autofocus.
