A fierce predator — named the Storr Lochs Monster — that lived 170 million years ago has been unveiled for the first time, half a century after it was discovered. The fossilised skeleton of the dolphin-like animal was found on the Isle of Skye, Scotland in 1966. It is the most complete skeleton of a sea-living reptile from the age of dinosaurs that has ever been found in Scotland, researchers from the University of Edinburgh said. The ancient reptile was around four metres in length and had a long, pointed head filled with hundreds of cone-shaped teeth, which it used to feed on fish and squid, researchers said. A partnership between the University of Edinburgh, National Museums Scotland and energy company SSE has enabled the fossil to be extracted from the rock that encased it for millions of years. Amazon Unveils 'Buy Now, Pay Next Year' Ahead of Great Indian Festival Sale. Amazon sale offers will be on top of the shoppers' minds when the great Indian festival starts, and to sweeten the deal, the e-commerce company will provide for the first time the option to purchase products and pay for them in instalments after three months. Named 'Buy now, pay next year,' the offer will be available to HDFC Bank credit card holders. The shoppers will be able to make purchases in the upcoming Amazon sale, but will be required to pay the instalments starting January 2018 only, Arun Srinivasan, category leader of consumer electronics at Amazon India told Gadgets 360. The Amazon sale start on September 21, but Prime members will have early access to sale deals from 12pm IST on September 20 itself. To coincide with the Amazon sale, the 'Buy now, pay next year' offer is being rolled out on September 20 for Prime members and September 21 for everyone else.

Samsung is planning for better camera possible in mobiles Sony was the first to build a mobile  camera with on-chip memory  – the Motion Eye camera on the Xperia XZ Premium and XZs (later XZ1 too). Now chatter from Korea suggests that Samsung Semiconductors is looking to build a similar camera in November, ready to use in the next-generation Galaxy S phone. The advantage of on-chip memory is that the camera can store many frames  very  fast – enough to shoot 1,000fps or so for slow-motion video. Streaming those to the main RAM will be too slow, so Sony built a three layer chip – pixels, control logic and memory. Samsung’s design is reportedly slightly different. It uses a traditional two layer chip to which a DRAM chip is bonded. Apparently this is to avoid infringing certain patents.
